Woods Hole Film Festival wants YOU to focus on.. well, the films!
There are a plethora of genres of film at this year’s WHFF, thank goodness Woods Hole’s staff are giving us a few to focus on. Here’s a look at a few in the Focus on Film series featured on the WHFF Facebook page:
Learn about filmmaking in space on the International Space Station. NASA will screen films that have been made from footage shot in space and give us a special look at the life of the astronauts on the International Space Station. The featured films will be “Walking in the Air”, “World”, “Angry Birds”, “Inside the International Space Station”.
Cartoon College follows a group of students at one of the most selective and grueling art schools in America: The Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, Vermont. A thoughtful and funny look into the world of aspiring indie cartoonists and graphic novelists, CARTOON COLLEGE is an examination of the creative process in action, demonstrating the passion and fortitude it requires when a person chooses their art over all else.
Eye of the Hurricane tells the story of a small Everglades community struggling to put their lives back together in the wake of a devastating hurricane. In the spirit of films such as ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, Hurricane is told through the eyes of a determined child, a troubled adolescent, a wounded parent and a loyal friend.
Woods Hole Film Festival runs from July 29, 2012 – August 04, 2012. For more information visit the festival webpage.
