The Summer of Johnny screening series presented by Atlantic Film Festival continues tonight with the whimsical tale of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
The series takes place at the Halifax Waterfront and begins promptly at dusk. And don’t worry, if you’re not already ‘Rolling in the Depp’ these films are great launchpads to start your career as a die-hard fan!
About the film:
The 2005 film starring Johnny Depp is a modern installment in what is a longstanding series of films based on a 1964 children’s book by British author Roald Dahl. The story features the adventures of young Charlie Bucket inside the chocolate factory of eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka.
Directed by Tim Burton, this version has the stark advantage of both the established fan base of the plot, the star (Depp), and the director. With an inspirational and upbeat soundtrack featuring songs you just can’t help singing along to, this classic overhaul enhanced the plot line ways you must see to believe!
