Cinéfest Sudbury to close w/ “A Late Quartet”

Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival recently announced that A Late Quartet will be presented as the Closing Night Gala Presentation at the 24th edition of the Festival. A Late Quartet will screen Sunday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at SilverCity Sudbury.

There will be a catered reception following the film at the Bryston’s on the Park, 5 Creighton Rd, at 9:00 p.m. When the beloved cellist of a world-renowned string quartet is diagnosed with a life threatening illness, the group’s future suddenly hangs in the balance as suppressed emotions, competing egos and uncontrollable passions threaten to derail years of friendship and collaboration. As they are about to play their 25th anniversary concert — quite possibly their last — only their intimate bond and the power of music can preserve their legacy.

A powerhouse cast, featuring Christopher Walken (True Romance), Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote) and Catherine Keener (Capote), brings vivid life to Yaron Zilberman engrossing first fiction feature. A Late Quartet is distributed in Canada by Mongrel Media. Cinéfest Sudbury’s Sunday Night Gala Presentation is generously sponsored by OLG. All Gala Film Presentation screenings will take place at SilverCity Sudbury, located at 355 Barrydowne Road.

The 24th edition of Cinéfest Sudbury runs from September 15th – 23rd, 2012. For further information, please contact the Cinéfest Sudbury office at (705) 688-1234 or visit www.cinefest.com.
