The International Film Festival Summit and Festival Genius are pleased to present the Key Note address for this years festival in a live stream on Sunday afternoon, December 2. Ted’s remarks are at 1:30pm, Central Time, and the live feed from the conference will begin at 1:00pm, Central Time. Laurie Kirby, Executive Director of the conference, will comment on the state of the community and will introduce Ted.
Ted is uniquely qualified to discuss “Pushing the Boundaries”, his topic on Sunday afternoon. As his Wikipedia entry points out, in his role as filmmaker, he has produced 23 Sundance entries, three of which are Grand Jury Prize Winners. His films have won awards at Cannes and Deauville and have been nominated for 5 Spirit Awards and one Academy Awards. Two of his films have been Sundance Opening Night Selections, and one was nominated for five Emmys.
He is widely recognized as a thought leader in the independent film community. He recently assumed the position of Executive Director at the San Francisco Film Society which presents the San Francisco International Film Festival. The SFIFF was established in 1957 and is the longest running film festival in the Americas, having presented over 6,000 films over the years.
